On Tuesday December 27th 16 players battled for prize money totaling over $1200 (including Calcutta money) at Rack-M-Up Billiards in Cornwall, Ontario. This was a modified tournament with all players able to lose their first match but from the second round on regardless of which side of the bracket you are on the tournament changed to single elimination. The entry fee was handicapped and races were "straight up" general consensus was that it was fun and feedback was positive.
Former owner of Rack-M-Up Billiards and long time pool enthusiast Clayton Disotell took first. What makes this win even sweeter for Disotell, it came against long time friend and rival Jacques Sauvé. These two have battled for friendly $20's off an and on for years and for the last little bit Sauvé has been getting the better of him. Disotell blanked Sauvé 5-0 in the final.
Tieing in the 3/4 places were Matt Cook/Mike Mitchell. There was a 10 ball break and run contested and it was quickly won by Chase Sunday taking home an extra $53 for his awesome runout! Tournament play started just after 10:30 am and finals were complete before 5 pm.
Many thanks to Doug and Amanda for hosting this event
